Follow Along! Hiroi Sekai’s Spring 2013 Season Thus Far

Good day folks, how is everyone?

Between a nice new job lined up and my schooling, I’ve been keeping quite busy. Since my means of recreation is to enjoy a delectable palette of anime in between, I have been looking into the Spring 2013 season, yes. Although it’s still very early on, let’s look at some initial impressions, yes? Oh, and I get to talk about the other series I saw for the first time here too. :3

Usagi Drop – The Review

I know, I know. I said “soon”, but it’s just so late. I have a new job and I’m also moving into a brand new apartment at the end of the month, so I’ve been ridiculously preoccupied. I’ll be starting a fantastic 18-month diploma course for graphic design and web development in April as well. But hey, I’ve done all I can to keep up with this awesome season, so at least I’ll have a lot to talk about when I have some time to myself again, right?

So if you were wondering about Hiroi Sekai’s next review, look no further! Today we look at Usagi Drop. (more…)

Top 10 Anime of 2012 (…According to That Other Writer)

Oh papermario, you’re so cool! Copying the idea for an article from a fellow blogger the day after he posts it? What can we bring you next, Your Grace?

Sorry. I am aware that I’m going to be basically following up on Echoes’ post, but I did realize after reading that great post that I didn’t have a top 10 of 2012 to myself. So here I am, stealing the idea straight from the last post.

Want some rules? Well too bad, because here they are. The production’s release date had to start in 2012 and end in such as well (so no ongoing series!). Did I say rules? I meant rule. (more…)

Top 10 Anime of 2012 (…According to Echoes)

2012 has been over for a while already, but it’s still January, so I reserve the right to crank out an obligatory “best of” list before it’s officially too late! These are obviously my personal choices, but I’ll go into each entry and explain what made the title stand out to me. I have a few holes in my watching this year, so I’ll mention up-front that I have not yet seen Fate/Zero, Kokoro Connect or Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita; all three of which sound like interesting shows that might’ve made it onto my list if I’d seen them. Considering them potential honorable mentions!

I’ll quickly go through my philosophy on what qualifies for the list, to avoid any confusion. The show has to have begun airing (distribution in the case of non-televised OVAs) in 2012 to be considered, and any show that’s still ongoing will not appear on the list. In the latter case, it’ll retroactively count if I ever feel inclined to reconsider what the “bests of 2012″ were. Fair enough? Great! (more…)

Winter 2012/2013 Anime!

Well hello hello, dear readers. We’re back again with a new article, and I must apologize for it being somewhat late. For the last month I have had this nightmare of a problem eating away at me; it started off with what felt like a stroke and has now reached the simple point of daily headaches and other meddlesome symptoms. Visited several clinics and hit up the E.R. multiple times, lost countless hours of sleep and further decreased my pitiful weight of 125 lbs.

EKG is clean. 7 blood tests came up with healthy levels. Chest X-ray showed no problems. CT scan of my head and brain are all tip-top. So what the hell is it? Most likely, it’s anxiety. I’ll admit that I’m a rather anxious person, worrying about things a little too much sometimes and letting issues creep on me for too long. As such, these bothersome symptoms won’t go away as they pester me and I can’t stop thinking about them. Hopefully I can wage this war and win it in the long run.

Now that we have that out of the way, it’s time to talk about what I’m watching this season! Ready? (more…)
