Amagami SS+ Plus – Episode 4: More Than Friends
Welly well well, we’ve got a new writer, haven’t we? While the awesome articles flood the blog, I definitely can’t forget about Amagami SS+ Plus, right?
What happened last time? Well, Makabe cornered poor Rihoko and confessed to her, but not in a genuine fashion. With her strong feelings for Junichi, Rihoko is quick to decline Makabe, who at least backs off without causing anymore trouble. Well…he DOES find Haruka but a special guardian makes sure he stays far away.
After quite the detour, Rihoko finally makes it to Junichi’s house where only Miya is there to greet her. Later on, Junichi does return, and it seems like he did hear Rihoko’s big confession from the previous episode. A little awkward tension around the house now, wouldn’t you say? No matter though, since Rihoko finally gets to make the dinner for Junichi and Miya that she’s been wanting to make for all this time.
The meal is prepared and would you look at all of those tasty vegetables? Rihoko certainly didn’t hold back, did she? As everyone enjoys the dinner, they discuss how Rihoko’s fellow tea club members are holding up. With such a successful preparation of food, Rihoko is quickly welcomed back to cook for the pair at any time. She also decides to clean up by herself while Miya makes plans to go to the amusement park with Nanasaki and Sae the following day. What dinner is complete without dessert as well? The three decide to indulge in some flavoured shaved ice until the heavy rain begins to pour down. With no other choice, Rihoko agrees to spend the night at Junichi’s house where she gets a little time to herself in a hot bath.
After the bath, Rihoko gets to borrow Junichi’s clothes as Miya’s would apparently be too small where it matters. In the middle of the night, Miya ends up sleepwalking into Junichi’s room thinking it’s the bathroom. This turnout of events ends up waking up both Junichi and Rihoko, who end up burning fireworks together as a memory of their childhood. As the two sit under the moonlit night, they finally reach the point where they can confess their feelings to each other. FINALLY! I know what you’re all going to say. “NO. MORE. FRIENDZONE.”
As the episode comes to an end, it’s clear that Rihoko and Junichi’s relationship won’t be taking a seat in the back of the bus this time around. Next week, bring out my favourite heroine, Nanasaki Ai!
